Cerebral Palsy of Westchester Walks for Victims of
Event: The Cerebral Palsy of Westchester Walks for Victims of Hurricane Katrina event was organized as a way for our concerned and compassionate children and adults with developmental disabilities to do their part to aid the devastated victims of Hurricane Katrina. For the past three weeks our consumers have been diligently raising pledge money and awareness of the importance of helping those in need. In addition to our walk they will be collecting loose change until October 12th and to cap off our fundraising efforts we will be holding a bake sale that same day from 10:00am-1:00pm.
Day/Time: Wednesday September 21st 2005; 10:45am – 1:00pm
Location: David G. Osterer Cerebral Palsy of Westchester Campus, 1186 King St., Rye Brook, NY 10573
Activity: The morning of September 21st our walk will begin in front of the Cerebral Palsy program and service building. Participants will be walking up to 5 laps around our scenic campus; for every lap that is completed sponsors will pledge $1.00. Our consumers are hoping to raise money and awareness of the importance of helping others in need. One consumer from our Day Treatment program was so touched by this tragic event that she initiated a collection on the bus that she rides to and from campus. This is just one example of our caring and compassionate consumers. We hope that you will join us and witness this amazing act of human kindness.
