In response to the need for a comprehensive, statewide information and assistance program, New York has launched a new public awareness campaign called HeatSmartNY to help New Yorkers prepare for the upcoming winter season. HeatSmartNY provides one-stop shopping where cunsumers can learn about simple tips to cut energy usage and save money, and the programs available to help manage their energy bills. The campaign includes a wide range of services, including:
- a new website, www.HeatSmartNY.org
- a toll-free hotline, 1-877-NY-SMART
- a bilingual outreach and education campaign with public service announcements on radio, television and the Internet, and in newspapers
- a series of 630 HeatSmartNY workshops across the state.
