The Rye Arts Center, the largest not-for-profit community arts center in Westchester, is holding “A Phone Gala.” Throughout February, we are asking individuals and businesses to make donations rather than purchase tickets for a special event. Donations can be made at our website, www.ryeartscenter.org, or by calling The RAC. On Thursday, March 5, we will hold a phone-a-thon to contact those who have not yet responded to our request for support. That evening, we will also raffle off seven fabulous prizes, including a luxurious weekend for two at Stratton Mountain and a catered dinner for six. Tickets are $25 each or five for $100.
This type of fundraiser eliminates the expenses associated with a large benefit, and the money generated will go directly to need-based services like Headstart, a piano for the music school, tables and chairs for the children’s art studio, gallery exhibitions, performing arts events, and general operating needs. Since The RAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, contributions are 100% tax-deductible. Supporters of this event will be recognized in The Journal News and The Rye Record during the week of March 23.
