RAC - Proscenium Players
Release Date: March 06, 2009

The Rye Arts Center is proud to present the Proscenium Players in a Reading of Terrence McNally’s IT’S ONLY A PLAY, heralded by the New York TIMES as “without a doubt, hilariously, side-splittingly funny … These are among the funniest lines to roll off a stage in years … IT’S ONLY A PLAY deserves only a RAVE!”   The Reading will be performed on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 7:30 PM at the Rye Arts Center, located at 51 Milton Avenue in Rye, NY.

This will be the first collaboration between the established and well known RAC and the Proscenium Players, a theater group founded by Alan and Barbara Marks to bring edgy and exciting theater to Westchester.   The Reading will be directed by Alan D. Marks (producer of Speed the Plow, Blithe Spirit on Broadway and Buffalo Gal, Shipwrecked, and Chasing Manet off- Broadway) , and the cast includes:  Keith DiBuono, Andrea Garmun, Barbara Marks, Meghan McGrath, Larry Reina, John Thompson, Anthony Valbiro and Peter Wood.

The play is hysterical – all about the backstage antics of a Broadway theater company waiting for the reviews to come out for their play aptly titled The Golden Egg – and the comedy grows edgier and funnier as the reviews come in, and those assembled seek desperately to pin the blame on each other.

Reservations can be made by calling The Rye Arts Center at 914-967-0700 ext 33.  Space is limited and paid reservations are highly recommended.  Admission is $5 for RAC members and $7 for non-members.  Admission includes a free glass of wine served at intermission. This promises to be an exceptional evening – you don’t want to miss!
