From the National Weather Service ...MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW MOVING INTO THE AREA... A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW EXTENDING FROM THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY OF NEW YORK TO CENTRAL LONG ISLAND AS OF 920 AM EST WAS MOVING MOVING NORTH AT 20 MPH. THIS BAND OF SNOW WILL CAUSE SNOW TO ACCUMULATE AT UP TO AN INCH PER HOUR UNTIL AROUND 11 AM IN THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND UNTIL AROUND THE NOON HOUR IN SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT. VISIBILITY IN THIS BAND WILL BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN A QUARTER MILE AT TIME. IN ADDITION...THE INTENSITY OF THE SNOW WILL CAUSE TO ACCUMULATE QUICKLY EVEN ON TREATED ROADWAYS AS TEMPERATURES REMAIN IN THE UPPER 20S.
