County: Mosquito Tests Positive for West Nile Virus: August 6, 2012
On August 6, the village confirmed with the Westchester County Department of Health that their mosquito trapping site located in Rye Brook had a positive test result for the West Nile Virus. The county’s web site indicates dates of July 17 & 18, 2012. The mosquito trapping site in Rye Brook is located in the Rich Manor Park area which is one of ten county-wide testing sites the county coordinates to assist their program.

According to the county web site, in order to prevent insect bites it is important to use insect repellent and insect-repellent clothing when outdoors, and to remove standing water around your home where mosquitoes can breed.
