VILLAGE BOARD TO HEAR AND CONSIDER ADDITIONAL COMMENTS FROM RESIDENTS ON PROPOSED WESTCHESTER COUNTY
BUS STOP NEAR BELLEFAIR ON JUNE 28, 2005 AT VILLAGE HALL, 938 KING STREET, AT 7:30 P.M.
The Westchester County Department of Transportation has notified the Village that it is planning to establish a new bus stop on both sides of King Street (northbound and southbound) immediately north of the BelleFair entrance. They are seeking the input of the Rye Brook community through the Village Board.
This planned bus stop would be an additional stop for Westchester County Bee Line Route #12, which makes other stops on King Street between Anderson Hill Road and Rye Lake Road. No other stops would be eliminated as they currently serve other customers, and no bus shelter is proposed at this location at this time. Presently, the closest bus stop location north is on King Street at Lincoln Avenue (near United Cerebral Palsey), and south the near the entrance to Reckson. Westchester County advises that the Reckson bus stop (temporarily moved north of the Reckson office park entrance) will be relocated south of the Reckson entrance once the new Reckson entrance is completed.
The Westchester County Department of Transportation has already contacted NYS and CT regarding the proposed stop and has not received any objections from them.
The Village Board has considered this planned bus stop at its June 28 and July 12, 2005 meetings. They will consider this request again on July 26, 2005, hoping to hear from more of the Rye Brook residents, particularly individuals in BelleFair who may use this stop more than others due to their close proximity. Any residents may submit written comments to the Mayor and Village Board at Village Hall, 938 King Street, Rye Brook NY in advance of this meeting, or appear at this meeting to voice their support or opposition to this new planned bus stop.
