Westchester Earth Day 2009
Release Date: April 17, 2009

Earth Day Westchester 2009, brought to you by Westchester County Government, will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain or shine) at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla, New York.  County Executive Andy Spano will be presenting sustainability/recycling awards and prizes at the event.

There will be live music and entertainment, free “Earth Machine” composting bins for the first 50 families, free reusable shopping bags while supplies last, free raffles for valuable prizes like a home energy audit and 30-day unlimited ride MetroCards, Farmers Market, lawn and gardening advice, “green” exhibits and more.

Free admission and parking.  Walk, cycle, ride Metro-North or carpool to the event. Kensico Dam Plaza is located at the north end of the Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla.

Held in cooperation with the Westchester Climate Change Advisory Council.  Sponsored by Wheelabrator Westchester, LP, City Carting of Westchester, Malcolm Pirnie, Birdsall Services Group and Cornerstone Environmental Group, LLC.
