With the Village’s transition to a new sanitation company, AAA Carting, the Village has been informed that sanitation employees are entering into private residences and using security codes to open doors in order to remove trash. Entering of residences for trash removal is not a service offered by the Villages contract and raises concerns regarding liability, security and privacy.
On September 15, 2009 The Village Board of Trustees approved a resolution prohibiting the sanitation contractor, AAA Carting, from entering into private residences for the removal of trash. Private residences shall be considered but not limited to garages, residences, sheds or any other room within a structure where trash receptacles are stored or may require a code / key to enter.
Effective October 5, 2009, AAA Carting will no longer enter into residences or use garage codes to remove trash from within residences. Trash shall be placed outside after 6:00 pm the night before your scheduled pickup or by 6:00 am the day of collection.
Only recycling, bulk and green waste is required to be collected at the curb. Rear-yard collection is an additional service made available to Rye Brook residents. Please take advantage of it! Kindly tell the sanitation company employee(s) who collect from your property where you will be placing the garbage cans in the future, and from that point forward trash will be picked up from such location.
