Solarize Program Offers Limited-Time Discounts of Up to 15%
Launch Event Thursday, October 22, 2015
Solarize Rye Brook encourages increased adoption of small-scale solar electricity systems by offering lower installation costs through economies of scale. Group discounts offered by a pre-selected, qualified solar contractor are coupled with extensive community outreach and education to create awareness and build interest. A clear end date motivates residents to act.
After a thorough pre-qualification and competitive application process, representatives of Rye Brook, with the assistance of Solarize Westchester, have selected Sunrise Solar Solutions as the designated solar contractor for residential installations and Best Energy Power for commercial installations for Solarize Rye Brook. Residents and businesses who sign up for solar installations by March 7, 2016 will be able to take advantage of group rates significantly below market prices—and the more people who sign up, the lower the price will be for everyone—even the first to enroll!
Mayor Paul Rosenberg commented, “The Village of Rye Brook is excited to partner with the Solarize Westchester team to promote solar energy in our community. As a resident with solar on my own home, I cannot wait to share the financial and environmental benefits of solar energy with my neighbors in Rye Brook.”
Solarize Rye Brook has a goal to have 50 signed contracts for solar by the end of the campaign. Over the past 12 years, 16 solar photovoltaic systems have been installed throughout Rye Brook, representing a total generation capacity of over 147 kilowatts.
Solarize Rye Brook is part of Round 2 of the Solarize Westchester Campaign, partnering with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) under Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's NY-Sun initiative, which is a $1 billion investment in solar power through 2023 to significantly expand solar installations across the State and to ultimately transform New York’s solar industry so it becomes self-sustaining. The four Round 1 campaigns of Solarize Westchester exceeded their combined goal, with 200 residential contracts and approximately 10 commercial contracts.
