The Village of Rye Brook is excited to be 1 of 20 municipalities in Westchester County participating in the new Westchester Power Program.  Residents and small businesses have started to receive letters from Westchester Power explaining the program and the opportunity to fix costs on electric bills.  Unless you choose to “Opt Out” or “Opt Up” from the basic program, you will automatically be enrolled in the new program with a supplier called Con Edison Solutions.  For details of this program, the options available, and FAQs, please visit http://westchesterpower.org/

New Building Department Hours
Effective May 27, 2014  the Building Department office hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
ConEdison Training Exercise, 5/11, Fairlawn Parkway
On Monday, May 11 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M., residents may notice numerous Con Edison and Village of Rye Brook vehicles and personnel participating in a training exercise on Fairlawn Parkway.  This exercise will include several Con Edison and village vehicles, personnel and observers of the training activities.  Please note that no interruption of power will occur as a result of this training exercise.On Monday, May 11 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M., residents may notice numerous Con Edison and Village of Rye Brook vehicles and personnel participating in a training exercise on Fairlawn Parkway.  This exercise will include several Con Edison and village vehicles, personnel and observers of the training activities.  Please note that no interruption of power will occur as a result of this training exercise.

Household Garbage is Collected Rear-Yard

Many residents do not seem to know that our sanitation contractor is required to pick up household garbage from residents' rear-yards. Only recycling, bulk and green waste is required to be collected at the curb.  If you currently leave your household garbage at the curb but would like to have it collected rear-yard, kindly tell the sanitation company employee(s) who collect from your home where you will be placing the garbage cans in the future, and then start the next day.  It's that easy! Rear-yard collection is an additional service made available to Rye Brook residents- please take advantage of it!
